Plot: Four college friends hiking through the Swedish wilderness take a wrong turn and end up trapped in an ancient forest where something evil is hunting them.

Marcela Notes: I'm gonna get really autistic here- I loved this movie a lot until I read the book and then I loved the first half of the book and thought way less of the movie, but the second half of the book was absolute garbage and now I think I prefer the movie? The visuals are pretty wicked, the first death had me like whoaaaaah and at times the acting was too good that it gave me mad anxiety to see friends reacting to seeing one another die horribly. I'm sorry but the monster makes me laugh. Its wee little hands! No one asked but the author of the book is sexist af I can't recommend paying for his works. Wow but I might go re-read only the first half of this like literally right now. 

Fun Fact: The movie is supposed to take place in Sweden, but it was actually filmed in the Carpathian Mountains of Romania. Even better, the creature is identified as a jötunn, one of the monstrous beings descended from Loki in Norse mythology.
