Plot: In a near-future America, all crime — including murder — becomes legal for twelve hours every year. When masked attackers target a wealthy family's supposedly secure home, the family discovers that hiding behind their security system isn't enough.

Fun Fact: Inspiration literally struck when director James DeMonaco and his wife were nearly killed by a drunk driver, and after the confrontation his wife joked that it would be great if everyone got one free murder a year.
