Plot: Eight people who experience sleep paralysis describe their terrifying encounters with shadow figures, supernatural beings, and the feeling of being trapped inside their own bodies. Their stories are combined with unsettling reenactments that blur the line between documentary and horror film.

Marcela Notes: This helped me understand that I dealt with crazy sleep paralysis as a child- I never talked about it because it happened so long ago but this REALLY opened my eyes to what was actually going on, not just normal nightmares. No one asked but thankfully I've only had it 2-3 times as an adult, and not for years. I want to love it as a whole but its got some rough patches for sure. Really scary imagery but hmmm as you'll see it gets... to a ~place~ and I'm like wait that did NOT happen to me as a child lol. 

Fun Fact: Rodney Ascher later made another documentary about obsessive interpretations of a horror movie: Room 237, about The Shining.
