Plot: After an unexplained catastrophe wipes out much of the population, a family hides inside an isolated house while trying to protect themselves from whatever remains outside. When another desperate family arrives seeking shelter, fear and paranoia begin destroying the fragile alliance.

Marcela Notes: Great for lovers of slow burns and highly interpretative plots and endings that leave you with a lot of thoughts and questions. Riley Keogh's acting in this HAUNTS me like I can hear her as I type this sentence. I remember when I saw this in theaters, as soon as it ended, there was a *cough, white* woman audibly upset who approached me and demanded to know if I thought it was scary. It made me so sad for her that she can't appreciate unique films, like aww poor little uncultured swine. At least she will always have Saw Chapter 10 to remind her of good quality cinema. 

Fun Fact: The painting seen at the beginning is The Triumph of Death by Pieter Bruegel the Elder, painted around 1562. It's an actual painting hanging in Madrid's Museo del Prado—and its imagery basically screams “yeah, shit has gone very wrong.”
