Marcela Notes: I will never understand what people who admitantly insist that this isn't scary are trying to prove to themselves or to anyone else. I try to reason that people who have not experiened real life grief won't be affected the same way as those who have and move on. I absolutely love this movie and wish Toni Collette would have submitted for an Oscar nom even if it wouldn't have been picked up it was well deserved. There's a Youtube series called Heavy Spoilers that has a really great episode that breaks down questions I've had about this movies for years after tens of watches, I do recommend. 

Fun Fact: Ari Aster wrote detailed biographies and backstories for every major character before he even wrote the screenplay.
