Marcela Notes: I honestly am not even sure what category to even put this in. I Just recently watched it but I'm still not sure what happened honestly. Fog, fathers, fog monsters that aren't pirates, stardom? It kind of felt like a less developed and stranger Neon Demon remake, respectfully not nearly as good. Takes a minute to get going but things definitely turn for the strange and intense towards the end, but no wonder Sophie Thatcher received a standing ovation at Cannes. Charles Melton is there doing weird shit too I guess. 

Fun Fact: Refn was inspired to make the film after undergoing major heart surgery in 2023, an experience he has described as profoundly transformative.
