Plot: Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist, creates a living creature in a monstrous experiment that ultimately destroys both creator and creation.

Marcela Notes: I feel heavily pressured to like this more than I do, but I cannot deny the beauty and detail that drips off of every corner of every scene from the acting to the costumes and set design. I'm not sold on Jacob Elordi but whatever. A friend of mine texted me that there was a shot of Mia Goth holding a skull and staring off stoically that "was the most Marcela thing" he had ever seen, and its one of the nicest compliments I've ever received. When I grow up I want to have Mia Goth's hair and wardrobe in this movie. Also how the hell did people not realize Mia Goth played Victor's mother in the beginning? Blind? 

Fun Fact: Andrew Garfield was originally cast as the Creature. The makeup department spent nine months developing Garfield's Creature design before he dropped out and Jacob Elordi replaced him, forcing the team to redesign it in only a few weeks.
