Plot: Laura returns to the abandoned orphanage where she spent her childhood and moves there with her husband and adopted son. After her son disappears, Laura begins uncovering disturbing secrets about the children who once lived there.

Marcela Notes: Love love love, genuinely frightens me and breaks my heart. The knock knock game in the dark scene? I almost died whe I was 17 and saw it. Absolutely lost sleep for a week or two after this one. 

Fun Fact: When Geraldine Chaplin arrived for her first day of filming, director J. A. Bayona hid underneath a bed and grabbed her leg when she knelt down in the dark. Her scream in the movie was completely genuine.
