Plot: After moving into a strange old house, Coraline discovers a secret door leading to a parallel world where everything seems better—including her parents. But the seemingly perfect Other World hides a sinister secret, and Coraline must find the courage to escape.

Marcela Notes: The bitter old person in me is annoyed this made a huge resurgance because its been a favorite of mine since college, so much so that my friends actually complained to me that I made them watch it every time I invited them over to my room (autistic). Its still great if you ignore the new wave of youths attached to it, and oh yeah, the monster who wrote the original book sigh. I HIGHLY recommend watching the making of, its so incredible to see the tiny little sets be built of bits and bobs and even popcorn for trees! 

Fun Fact: The book and following film only exists because Neil Gaiman's daughter kept insisting none of the scary books her dad brought her back from the store were good enough, so he wrote Coraline for her! (I wish my dad loved me).
