Plot: After the accidental death of their young son, a grieving couple retreats to a secluded cabin in the woods called Eden. As they attempt to confront their grief, their relationship deteriorates into increasingly disturbing violence, sexuality, paranoia, and psychological horror.

Marcela Notes: It took me three days to fully watch this when I was in college and I had to do a lot of researching in between to read how they achieved certain effects to calm my raging anxiety. Purely upsetting from first to last minute. Absolutely devastating body horror. The fox? I almost shit my pants. But, I read that Charlotte Gainsbourg had a lot of fun running around naked in the woods, so that brings me a little comfort. Cool as fuck visuals but damn at cost. 

Fun Fact: Willem Defoe used a prosthetic penis in this not because he was shy, but because his dick is so big that Lars von Trier said no one would believe it was real. Ok Willem~
