Marcela Notes: I remember being annoyed at how fantastical they marketed this movie as being, but over the years its really grown on me. Love a girl power alien area movie. One of the creatures genuinely unsettles me, definitely some great moments of tension in this one. Gina Rodriguez is hot af don't even get me started. Idgaf what happens to me in the Shimmer if I get to walk into it with that girl gang. I hated this book but thankfully all it shares with the film is a name, I really don't know why they would even say its based on Jeff Vandermeer's novel it is so different.
